It's actually more lavender/purple than the picture shows. I found the pattern in my pattern-a-day calendar. The lighter yarn is soft furry nylon. The darker yarn is merino/silk/cashmere.
It's good to have something concrete to do when there's no actual action you can take to fix a situation.

It's a beautiful scarf, looks very soft and lush. I'm sure the recipient will be thrilled! I've got a stash to pick through, I think I'm starting off with an eyelash/DK combo. I'll post pictures this weekend. I agree, it's nice to have something to do when you feel hopeless in the face of a situation.
